Reading at Home Program

Program Advantages

Program Features & Benefits

Service is our primary product, and we have organized our program to offer our clients several direct benefits.

Fast, Accurate Fulfillment

Thanks to the nation's most accurate and fastest computerized fulfillment systems, the first magazine should arrive 12-14 weeks from the receipt of the order. So the customer receives the correct magazine on-time. More satisfied customers, less chance of complaint.

Superior Customer Service

NCS uses highly trained in-house customer service representatives who generally can offer solutions while the customer is on the line. Responses are monitored and evaluated, ensuring superior, faster service.

Orders Confirmed With Customers

Every person who orders a subscription and provides an email address receives a email listing magazine title and number of issues ordered, frequency of delivery, approximate delivery date of first issue, NCS toll-free number. A "thank you" message from the school is included. This eliminates the majority of calls a school may receive.

Report Aids Repeat Business

The Student Audit Report (SAR), developed by NCS, lists all students, their customers, and magazines purchased. The report can be easily distributed to students, providing a "hot prospect" list for the next program making it invaluable for building a repeat customer base.

Specialized Program Simplifies Data Collection

A unique software program developed by NCS provides an easy way to accumulate a range of data concerning the sales program. Reports of several different categories can be run for any specific day or for the total program. Thus, a school or organization can stay constantly updated on the project's status.

Network of Independent fundraising Professionals

We are proud to be closely affiliated with more than 100 highly experienced fundraising professionals. An annual meeting gives these veterans an opportunity to share ideas and success stories, allowing other participants to benefit from their experience.

Supplemental Sales

In addition to Reading At Home, we offer several other fundraising opportunities for both schools, groups, and organizations as well as smaller squads and clubs.

MailMAGS
eMailMAGS
Smart Billing Magazine Sale
Magazine Xtra
GMP (Group Mailing Program)
SMP (School Mailing Program)

MailMAGS

MailMAGS is a magazine mailing program designed to accompany a regular magazine or product program. It allows family, friends, and relatives of the sponsoring organization who live outside the community to help support the group's fundraising efforts.

Adding the MailMAGS program to your product or magazine sales gives you a unique way to stand apart from the competition.

  • Students are given a student packet and asked to supply at least 7 addresses.
  • NCS mails the notes along with a list of over 400 of the most popular magazines.
  • Customers order magazines and send the payment to NCS.
  • The school receives the profit once a month.

Since students normally do not contact these people during their regular sale, this is an untapped customer base that will add to the profit of the group.

For those customers preferring to do business over the Internet, EmailMAGS™ offers the same features at MailMAGS™ with the added convenience of email correspondence.

eMailMAGS

Similar to our MailMAGS program, eMailMAGS is a magazine program designed to accompany a regular magazine or product program. It allows family, friends, and relatives of the sponsoring organization who live outside the community to help support the group's fundraising efforts via their computer.

Students are asked to send emails to their friends and family members encouraging them to order from an online web site. Each email is customized by the student for the particular recipient. When supporters order online, students and sponsors are given immediate feedback.

Since students normally do not contact these people during their regular sale, this is an untapped customer base that will add to the profit of the group.

Smart Billing Magazine Sale

The Smart Billing program eliminates two of the major problems that can occur in a product fundraising drive: collection of money and delivery of products. In our program, students use the traditional RAH magazine catalogue and Smart Billing order form, which allows the student to take orders without collecting money at the time of the sale.

  • The student collects the order forms and the school mails them to NCS.
  • NCS mails an invoice to each customer with instructions to make payment, by check or by credit card (American Express, Visa, or MasterCard) directly to NCS.
  • NCS collects payments and sends a profit check to the school and the sales rep.

Magazine XTRA™

The Magazine Xtra™ can be run with a product program. This program includes an insert depicting 48 magazine titles. All magazine price points are $15. Most subscriptions will run one year.

The program is simple.

  • The customer writes the code number (all magazines have the same code) on the product order form. This code alerts the pre-packer to pull a voucher.
  • Each voucher contains a barcode with the SKU number so the pre-packer can scan the product.
  • A voucher from NCS for each magazine order is packed with each student's product order.
  • The student delivers the voucher (just like a regular product) to the customer. The voucher lists the magazine titles available and contains an order form to be completed by the customer.
  • The postage paid voucher is mailed to NCS for processing.
  • Each customer will receive a confirmation card from NCS after the order has been processed.

This program will increase the group's overall sales. Results show the magazines have been pulling 6%-15% of the sale! This program provides the sales rep with another helpful tool to be effective in a competitive situation.

Supplemental Programs for Smaller Groups

For smaller groups, such as bands, cheerleading squads, and clubs, the following supplemental programs can be source of added profit or may fulfill your fundraising needs entirely:

GMP (Group Mailing Program)

GMP is a stand-alone magazine mailing program that solicits family orders (in addition to family and friends living out of town). The program runs the same as the MailMAGS™ program with the exception that students may earn a music or spirit related t-shirt for returning completed packets and having an order from home. Proven to be very successful with Jr. High and High School music programs.

SMP (School Mailing Program)

SMP is another stand-alone magazine mailing program designed for Elementary Schools. The students are asked to bring in 7 names of family, relatives, and friends.
